2017 Haiti Mission Trip

Experience what the World Hunger Drive is all about first hand and enrich your soul. Join Deacon Daren and others Oct. 15 to 21 on the mission trip to Haiti.

Approximately $900 per person (includes airfare, local transportation, room and board*)
*Note: A donation to the MOP Brothers of $40/day is suggested to cover meals, room and board but is completely voluntary.

Stay with the Missionaries of the Poor (MOP) in Cap Haitien and visit Tremesse School in the rural hills.

Feed the Body You will help the Brothers feed and care for children in the Orphanage and the elderly patients. At the school you may help prepare meals for the school children. You will be serving the food that St. Matthew provided.

Feed the Mind Spend a day at Tremesse School. Color and paint with the Children. Help maintain the irrigation and tilapia projects. Discover how this rural area has thrived due to Tremesse school.

Feed the Spirit Experience daily encounters with the Holy Spirit through the children and the Brothers. The Brothers will share morning Mass and prayer, evening prayer with Rosary and night prayer.


Day One – Leave Charlotte for Cap Haitien via Miami. Arrive in Cap Haitien. Introduction and tour of MOP compound. Evening Prayer – 5:00 p.m. Dinner at 7:00 p.m. Night Prayer at 9:00 p.m. (You are welcome to participate in all prayer hours, but it is not required.)

Day Two – Morning Mass and prayer – 5:45 a.m. Breakfast  at  7:00 a.m. Work in the MOP centers providing help to the Brothers feeding and caring for the children and elderly.

Day Three – Head to Tremesse school which is a 45 minute drive into the country side.  Help prepare meals for the children, do art projects, irrigation and Tilapia projects, and tour country.

Day Four  – Individuals can choose between the school and the MOP centers.

Day Five – Adventure out to the Eighth Wonder of the World to the Citadelle Fortress.

Day Six – Leave Cap Haitien for Charlotte via Miami. Clear customs prior to  leaving for Charlotte. Arrive back in Charlotte Saturday Night.
